8. Chatting in the game:
Try all these out. If you hit return a box will open on the bottom of the page. Tyoe something in and you will say it. Saying it will allow for people around you to hear you and they will see a cartoon thought bubble above your head with the text inside. Now click on somebody and hit return again. This time type /w words words words then hit return again. You have just whispered somebody. Only that person will see what you wrote, in this case: words words words. You can also type /w Stigg yo hit return again. Now you have just sent a whisper to the most wonderful person in the world, me. No matter where I am at, I will see the message yo(unless im not playing.) If somebody has whispered you, you can type /r message and that will reply message to the last person you have talked to.
There are also general chats. If you type /1 it will get you the General chat for the zone your in. This message will appear to every person that is in your zone. /2 is the trade channel. Only certain places have this channel. If you type /2 you can then SHIFT-CLICK on an item and it will appear in the trade channel. (This also works in whipers and in guild chat) Use this if you are in a city and are trying to sell something. WTS means want to sell and WTB is want to buy. /3 is Local defense. /4 is LFG(looking for group. Useful if you are going on a hard quest) /g brings up guild chats.

9. Emotes:
These are cool. Type in / then a lot of words and you will either say them, act them out, or they will just be said. For example. If I type in /cheer I will say either For the Horde, Let our ancestors be praised and raise my arms in the air. Others are Flirt You know the only thing old bulls are used for, dance, no, yes, beckon, point, sit, sleep, cry, spit, fart, burp, follow, etc. Try them out. There are a ton!

10. Fighting other people:
This is the best part of the game. There are 3 types of zones. Friendly, Contested, and enemy. You will start in a friendly zone and mostly stay in a friendly zone until level 20ish. This means members of the opposing faction (Alliance if you play horde and horde if you play alliance) can not attack you unless you attack them. Contested zones are a free for all. You can attack them and they can attack you without restriction. If you kill somebody within 10 levels of you(below you) you get an honor kill and honor points. If you get a lot of them, you get a cool rank, and if you get a ton you get cool prizes. If you get the third rank you get 10% off good purchased everywhere(so if you are honored with a city it gets you 20% off, great for buying your 100G mount!) Honor points are calculated every night and ranks are handed out weekly. Enemy zones you cant attack unless you are attacked first. I have a blast going to Alliance starting zones and annoying all the starters until they attack me and then I kill them for the next 30 minutes. They eventually beg you to stop. O yea thats another emote. /beg. So never attack an alliance unless you can kill them if you are in a Friendly zone. If for whatever reason they are camping you (they have killed you and wont leave your corpse, type /1 I am being camped by a Night Elf Rogue near the Swamp, or whatever and people will eventually come to help you. Also, dont think youre the crap and try to attack somebody 5 levels or more above you. It wont happen unless you have planned it completely out. I have gotten my butt handed to me by rogues that are 7 levels below me, but that is because they snuck up on me, stunned me hit me four times, then I would get in a few hits, they would be almost dead, they would stun me again, heal themselves, and repeat. They suck. I have taken out a lot of people that are 5 levels above me by hiding and ambushing them with a trap laid out, my pet waiting somewhere to confuse them and running like mad. But, just in general if you stumble across somebody much higher than you, stop, type /wave. If they wave back, you are most likely fine to go about your business. If they dont wave backrun like hell. You also do not lose or gain anything by killing other people. They do not give you experience, money, itemsnothing besides honor. And in return you do not lose anything if you die. NOTHING, so dont worry about it if you get jumped. The only thing that sucks is you are wasting time walking back to your body.

a) Warsong Gulch
Warsong Gulch is the battlegrounds in The Barrens. It is the northernmost spot in the barrens and up on a hill to the west. What it is is a place where 10 alliance fight 10 horde in a capture the flag contest. It is a great place to get honor points and also gives you like 1300 XP for a win. It is played to 3 flag captures. The only problem is that there is usually a huge wait to get in. I have waited for 4 hours once to get in. You do not have to wait in line though. You run up to a wall hit Join battle and go about your day. Once time comes up for you to join, a screen pops up and says You are now eligible to join Warsong Gulch. Click yes and you are teleported into the battle. They have the games broken up into 10 levels per game. They start at 20, so it goes:
Levels 20-29 Levels 30-39 Levels 40-49 Levels 50-59 Level 60
There is also another Battlegrounds for level 50-60s but I dont know where it is. It is much larger though, like 20 or 40 per side. In that one you have to take over there bases and do a bunch of shit. I havent played it so I am only going on what I have read. Also this is the only place where you can loot other players. If you kill somebody you can get money off of them and sometimes cool drops. They can do the same to you. This is not your money from your bank. You will not lose anything during these battles(except bullets, arrows, things like that.)

b)Other Battlegrounds
There is now another battlegrounds in Arathi Highlands. It is different than capture the flag, now it is more like king-of-the-hill. There are 5 locations, and the longer you control them the more resources you get. The first team with 2000 rescources wins the game. This takes about 40 minutes pre game, but I was in one that lasted over 2 hours. That was hell, but a lot of fun. You can get a shitload of honor kills doing this. There is also another BG that is for level 54 or something.
C) Cities also have battlemasters that allow you to enter Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin from them.

11. Parties and guilds:
If you are questing to kill a certain number of things, get a party together. Not only does this make killing them easier, but you also all share the kill. So for instance if you have to kill 10 dragonlings and are partied up with one other person you still need to kill only 10 dragonlings and not 20. The only problem is the Experience you gain from killing the monsters is half the experience you would have gained. Guilds are one of my favorite parts of the game. I have been in 3 so far. I got recruited when I was level 6 to some guild. They sucked. They never talked and never helped anybody out. They were also rarely on. The second guild I was part of I had to prove my worthiness by dueling a warrior of the same level. I crushed him and joined. There were so many people and they were all like 10 years old so I quit and am on HORRIBLE terms with them. Guilds are decently complex. There are different ranks in guilds and different types of guilds. I dont know all the ranks, I think there are like 6. I am second in command of my guild(along with 4 others) under the Guildmaster. There are fun guilds, leveling guilds, tradeskill guilds, race guilds, class guilds, acting guilds so on and so forth. I like my guild because we help eachother and do not spam the hell out of the chat channels. So find a guild you enjoy and join. They might quest with you, give you items, sell them to you cheap, or just straight out give you money. But be nice to them, they can annoy you forever. Find a guild that matches your playstyle and if they are too annoying leave. If people annoy you in the game type /ignore NAME.

12. Definitions of things you will see in the chat channels:

AFK: Wway from keyboard (/afk is the emote. If you are in a place that is contested and need to go away from the computer, type this. Some guilds have strict laws that you cant attack people while they are afk. Others think of afk as A free kill)
DND: Do not disturb(/dnd is the emote.)
IMO/IMHO: In my (humble) opinion.
